The 21CC Way

There’s so much changing in the world of transportation and logistics and so rapidly. We’ve gone from being the silent army to being recognized as a ‘sunrise industry’ in many developing countries. Amazon is unfurling itself as a logistics company at heart, extending its reach from production to final delivery of goods to end users. Our changing consumption habits and our taste for particular foods on a year-round basis is driving the setting up of cold storage chains across the globe. Against this backdrop, it’s not surprising that transportation and logistics are becoming an industry that young people want to make careers in. The challenge they face is making sense of the industry before stepping in, and figuring out where they would like to work.

Employers have a greater need than ever of talent to help build their logistics companies. Their challenge lies in finding that talent and getting it fighting fit as early as possible. With the pressure to grow rapidly and exponentially or be doomed, there is no time to wait years for people to come up to speed. Knowledge absorption has to happen in real time. Thankfully, the manner of learning itself, of absorbing content is changing very rapidly as well. With 4G mobile technology available across almost all countries content can be ‘consumed’ on the go. For people to want to consume content in their own time though it has to be compelling and engaging. For content to make sense and add value it has to be didactically sound, and understand how people really learn.

21CC’s new site hosts a wide selection of our online learning content for the transportation and logistics industry. All our content is mobile ready. Our focus is not on what the trainer wants to impart, but on what the learner needs to know, there being a very subtle difference between the two. We’re starting to gamify some of our most important modules, the ones on dangerous goods. If we can make content on dangerous goods so compelling that the learner wants to ‘play the game’ then real learning just became a whole lot easier.

We want to hear from employers, educators and of course learners and job seekers. Let us know what you think of our content and method, let us know what you would like to see us add to our fast growing library.
